It is a trekking that goes into the most uncontaminated nature of the Lagorai mountainous chain, where the three historical shepherd's huts which are no longer used can be admired. They have become a cultural heritage.

Author’s recommendation

If you can, bring a telescope. From the overlook there is a beautiful view.

Turn-by-turn directions

Difficulty E: excurionistic route

From the car park it is necessary to follow the forest route signaled by SAT n.362, cross the bridge over Torrente Maso di Spinelle and turn to the left walking along the sides of the river and up towards North. Once arrived at the jointure with Torrente Montalon which goes down to the left, follow this water stream. Walk on up to a capital made of wood and which is entitled to St. Antonio. The walk goes on towards North-West and the turnoff for Malga Costa is left to the right. At 1738 metres of height the torrent is crossed and the path moves to the opposite side of the mountain, comes out from the wood and reaches Malga Montalon. Once the shepherd's hut is passed by, the walk goes on with a steeper uphill aiming to the "forcella" that can be noticed between the Pala del Becco to the left, and Cima Buse to the right. The path then goes into the valley that encloses Montalon Lake. the walk goes on following path n. 362, which after developing to the sides of the lake goes up to reach "Forcella del Montalon", that links Val Montalon to Val delle Stue. The return follows the outward route.
