This tour takes you from Hotel Vezzena to the fortress Pizzo di Levico. Built by the Austrians of the KK-Habsburg monarchy in a strategically important location on the Vezzena Plateau, it was also known as the "Eye of the Plateaus". From 2017 at the fort you can find a panoramic terrace that allows you to look at one of the most impressive and beautiful views of the whole Valsugana: the view on the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo. Looking eastwards you can admire the Bassa Valsugana and the Cima D'Asta granite massif.

Getting there

From SS 47 – Strada Statale della Valsugana:

Exit at “Lochere” and keep driving om the “Menador” or “Kaiserjägerstraße” – a very narrow and panoramic road – until the pass.

Drive to Calceranica al Lago and from here to Vigolo Vattaro and the Lavarone Plateau until the pass; the road is a bit longer but broader and safer.

Parking

Parking lot by the Vezzena hotel on the pass.
