A beautiful circular tour takes us to one of the most attractive parts of the subgroup of the Cime di Rava range, namely, the hollow that conceals the Laghetti dell'Inferno, not far from the Caldenave plateau. The route described here is little used in winter. Along the high stretch you can rarely find a beaten track, therefore a minimum sense of direction is required. Difficulty: Average
Distance 8.1 km
Highest point1,997 m
Lowest point1,362 m

Best time of year
Be careful when choosing the route for the first stretch of the descent: the slope that goes down from Aia della Pesa to the Laghetti dell'Inferno is rather steep and has several small rocky crags to get around.
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Rifugio Carlettini - altitude 1390m
From Località Tedon follow the summer trail that climbs up to Rifugio Caldenave (SAT trail 332), as far as the large plateau at an altitude of 1770m. Here, go to the left, crossing the small bridge of Caldenave and follow the signs to Laghetti dell'Inferno. At an altitude of 1900m, when you see a rocky crag under which the trail passes along the flat (an alternative route to get directly to the Laghetti dell'Inferno), continue uphill into the sparse larch woods. At the edge of the woods, go diagonally to the left to get to the Aia dela Pesa peak (a great vantage point). From here, go down into the hollow of the Laghetti dell'Inferno (steep slope) and continue in a north-west direction towards the Baita di Lastei. You can now freely descend into the woods (be careful to go around some rocky mounds) until you meet the flat trail that connects the Piana di Caldenave to Malga Nassere (alpine dairy). When you get to the latter, following the signs to Rifugio Carlettini, you can quickly go back down the valley to arrive not far from the starting point.

From Strigno in the Valsugana, go up the Val Campelle as far as the mouth of the Val di Caldenave (Località Tedon – signs to Rifugio Caldenave).
