A mostly Bavarian tour with a short Austrian section; because just after launching in Marzoll the route goes beyond the border up to the Latschenwirt and to Wolfschwang, before we return to the Berchtesgadener land. The ascent - with Tragepassagen (passages) - up to Mordau-Alm will be rewarded with magnificent view!

We start this stage in Marzoll at the Schlossberg. Pass the castle, church, Moorbad (baths) and golf course, we ride straight to Gmainer Strasse, cross the main road and ride up the road towards Fürstenbrunn. After 1.6 km, we turn right to the Wirtshaus Latschenwirt (Inn). At the end of the parking lot, a covered Info Panel indicates that we are in the Untersberg Nature Park. We continue slightly upwards, past the Waldkneippanlage up to the hamlet of Bruchhäusl. On the paved road, we bear left and leave it, after not quite 1 km, by continuing straight on up the forest road. At the intersection with the paved road, we keep about 100 m to the left, then after 50 m to the right of the Reichenhaller Federal road. This we cross and continue on the forest road on the opposite side towards the railway, but do not cross it, however, continue to cycle back to the Reichenhaller Straße. This we cross again after bearing right up the street. Now we keep to the forest edge past the Holdzstube (cabin), again back to the Reichenhaller Strasse. Cross the railway line, and before the road begins, turn left onto the cycle path, take the underpass on the other side of the road and continue to cycle up to the campsite. Turn right there and turn right again away from the campsite by taking the road to Klaushäusl. Shortly thereafter, the forest road changes and becomes ever steeper, which ends after about 4 km at a reverse-spot. Continue first briefly on a relatively level footpath which crosses a brook. We then need to shoulder the bike for the next 300 metres and carry it up a steep, rocky footpath. At the level of the Fernwasser Diensthütte (cabin), it continues again on a forest path to the Mordaualm (approx. 1200 m altitude). At the next exit, we are rewarded for our efforts of the climb with a magnificent mountain panorama. Arriving on the main road, we turn diagonally right, again after approx. 20 m onto the other side of the street. Here, we turn down into the wood and then again turn right along the path to the Taubensees (lake). This ends at the old Reichenhaller Straße, where we cycle uphill to the left. After 2 km the road goes right onto the König Max-Weg (panoramic walking route) and via Triebenbach down to the west shores of the Hintersees (with hotels and boat rental).
