The Riffelalp Resort Park is located very near to Riffelalp station. From the park it is possible to photograph the Matterhorn, with two mighty Swiss pines in the foreground.

The little park in front of the Riffelalp Resort is ideal for the perfect photo. This is just a few hundred metres from the Riffelalp station. The park is home to two mighty Swiss pines, which frame the Matterhorn shot in the foreground. With a little luck the red hotel tram will drive past, complementing the picture perfectly.

If your stomach starts to rumble after all that photography, a stop in one of the many restaurants is recommended. These are popular for their spacious sun terraces and unique panoramas.

How to get there

  • Gornergrat Bahn to Riffelalp station (20 minutes from Zermatt)
  • Various hiking trails
  • Via piste no. 39 in winter
