The ascent of the Alphubel over the Red Ridge is a great and impressive undertaking. You should not underestimate this tour because it is long, persistent and requires alpine experience.

In addition to the normal route to the Alphubel, the Red Ridge offers a challenging, combined ascent. It is worth spending the night in the Täschhütte so that you can start early and fit the next morning. The views of Monte Rose, Matterhorn, Obergabelhorn and the many other 4000 m peaks in the Valais Alps are unique and the climb on the Red Ridge is very rewarding. The highlight is probably the quartz belt in the upper area of the ridge, which offers perfect rock. The Zermatt mountain guide association has attached a few bolts to the difficult climbing spots, otherwise a lot of the route has to be secured by yourself.
